Hi Lo Film Festival

The hi/lo film festival has been presenting film you won’t see at the multiplex in San Francisco since 1997.
We accept films under 30 minutes in any genre, shot on any format – narratives, docs, experimental, animation, music video, bring it on!

Home Brewed International Film Festival
A competition for Shorts (under 10 minutes) and Features (over 60 minutes, unreleased or limited release on less than 5 screens). Prizes include a minimum of $6,000 cash for the Greater Union Prize for Best Short Film and $1,000 cash for Runner-Up. Four feature films will be selected for screening at Greater Union Cinemas in Wollongong, Australia from 26 to 29 October 2004, and will also receive a cash prize. Howl East Village Film Fest
FIRST ANNUAL HOWL FESTIVAL
AUGUST 20-26
Are you an aspiring filmmaker inspired by the vibrancy of New York City’s village community? If so, consider joining the Howl! Festival Of East Village Arts this summer.
In association with NewFilmmakers, Howl will be screening new films and videos during the weeklong celebration of local artists, writers, musicians and cultural institutions.
Unlike other festivals we will select films, not on the basis of industry contacts, producer reps or any representation, but those that express the radical and experimental spirit of the East Village.
Submission forms are available at East Village stores and film locations or at www.NewFilmmakers.com. Screening formats include VHS, BetaSP, DVD, 16mm and 35mm, although a NTSC VHS should be included.
Please include $12 submission fee. Make Checks and Money Orders payable to NewFilmmakers.

This is the first year for this festival that show only film shot with HDTV cameras. The schedule was just posted 10/1/00 and shows some really interesting content like Gene Roddenberrys Earth Final Conflict TV show, Lexx from the SciFi Channel, and many independent HD films.
