On December 20, 1971, Larry (the worst interviewer in the history of broadcasting, with the possible exception of C-SPAN’s Brian Lamb) was charged with grand larceny. The larceny charge were eventually dropped because the statute of limitations had run out, but King pled no contest to one of 14 charges of passing bad checks.
