It’s been a strenuous few months years for Britney Spears and her mom Lynne.
However, the estranged pair seem to be making amends.
Sunday afternoon, Lynne and daughter Jamie Lynne were spotted visiting Britney and the boys.
Back when Lynne was in the hospital a few months ago, though, Britney did not visit her – that’s how bad things got.
Let’s hope it’s all a bit better now.
We still want that ho – Momma Spears – on The View, though!

The British lady singers may be very talented, but they sure aren’t reliable!
Songstress Lily Allen was supposed to perform in Austin, Texas, this past weekend for the Mix 94.7 summer concert.
Unfortunately, Allen had to cancel at the last minute – claiming she was “sick,” sources tell PerezHilton.com.
Well, she wasn’t too sick to party it up at Kanye West‘s birthday extravaganza in NYC just the night before!
This isn’t the first time Lily’s cancelled.
In April, she announced that she was cancelling over 20 dates of her North American tour.
She’s still scheduled to perform in New York this week…if she doesn’t cancel!

Filed under: Drama, New Line, ThinkFilm, Celebrities and Controversy, DIY/Filmmaking, Newsstand If you're not at all familiar with Tony Kaye, then I suggest reading this new Telegraph interview with the infamous artist/filmmaker/lunatic. In it, they explore Kaye's entire career -- from growing up in an Orthodox Jewish home aspiring to be a painter to suing New Line for $275 million after they wouldn't allow him to credit himself as Humpty Dumpty on the final version of American History X, the man has pulled more elaborate stunts than ... screw it; no one has pulled more maniacal stunts than this man. Some might consider the man a genius (he's won a whopping 23 design and art direction awards throughout his career), but his wild temper and nonsensical actions once brought him to a point where no one in their right mind wanted to work with him.
For example, when New Line wanted to make changes to Kaye's first cut of American History X, the director proclaimed, "I'm fully aware that I'm a first-time director, but I need the same autonomy and respect that Stanley Kubrick gets." And that was him being nice. From there, he spent $100,000 of his own money taking out advertisements in the trades denouncing Edward Norton and the producer, he would show up to studio meetings with a Priest, a Rabbi and a Tibetan monk, and was so upset about the eventual 18 minutes of footage that was added in, he hasn't watched the finished film in 10 years. But that's just the short version; how in the world they found a way to get a great film out of this experience is beyond me, but reading about it is almost as much fun as watching it. The best part is that Kaye is finishing up a documentary about the whole experience called Humpty Dumpty, and guess who's distributing it? Yup, New Line.
But after spending 10 years in Hollywood prison, Kaye is currently prepping his first narrative feature since AHX, Black Water Transit. This time he's older, wiser -- and hopefully he's learned his lesson. Humpty Dumpty is set to get a small theatrical release, and then New Line will put it on the 10th anniversary DVD re-release of American History X next year -- a DVD I will purchase, even though I already own an older copy. Kaye's abortion documentary, Lake of Fire, finally premiered last year at Toronto after the director had been working on it for years. ThinkFilm will distribute later this year. Serena Williams enjoys some fun in the sun this past weekend in Miami Beach.
Following her loss at the French Open, Williams is set to make a go for it at Wimbledon in a couple of weeks.
If only she could stick a racket in her butt and volley!

If you blink hard enough you can almost pretend it’s Britney Spears in the BK (Before Kevin) era.
The recovering addict’s little sister, Jamie Lynn, who may or may not be estranged from her, made an appearance on Sunday at a fundraising event for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in Los Angeles.
She looks so innocent that Jamie Lynn. But, as Britney herself sang, she’s not that innocent (knowing that family).

Paris Hilton placed a collect call to Barbara Walters from jail yesterday and The View matriarch will discuss her conversation with the jailed heiress on today’s show!
Babs is an old friend of Kathy Hilton and is rumored to be angling for the first post-prison interview with mother and daughter.
Seems like that is more likely to happen now.
Hilton reveals to Walters that her experience in jail has truly changed her.
“I used to act dumb,” Paris told Barbara. “That act is no longer cute. Now, I would like to make a difference. God has given me this new chance.”
The jailhouse call came came about because Kathy was on the phone with Walters when Paris rang in on another line. When told Kathy was talking to Barbara, Paris said she’d like to speak to The View host herself.
“I was not eating or sleeping,” Hilton said of her first few days in prison. “I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage. It was a horrible experience.”

In Final Draft, what do you use the “General” element for? The manual describes its function negatively, saying only that it’s for whatever doesn’t fit into the other elements. Personally, I haven’t found a use for it yet and was wondering what the pros use it for.
– Richard Budd
As far as I know, nothin’. I bitch about Final Draft a lot, but one good thing it can do is create new styles (er, elements) for unanticipated needs. I created one called “singing” for dialogue that is part of a song (11pt Verdana italic). So why would I need to re-appropriate “General?”
Perhaps if I were writing a treatment, or some sort of other non-screenplay document, and didn’t feel like putting everything in “Action.” It’s conceivable, I guess. I recently had to write an extended outline for Shazam!, but I used Pages for its footnoting ability. The only advantage I could see to using Final Draft for an outline is its frustrating-but-consistent revision marks.
If any readers have a better explanation for the existence of “General,” I’d love to hear it.
