Katherine HeiglKatherine Heigl has been married all of a month, and she’s already noticed a few differences between her husband and herself.

The 27 Dresses star tells Oprah Winfrey that husband Josh Kelley is “charming beyond belief. He is sexy and talented, … so kind, and he’s so compassionate.”

And how does she rate herself as a wife?

“I’m not always so nice,” she says. “I have my moments.”

The interview airs Friday on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Strike, day 88

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

We had a big turnout for the Van Ness gate this morning — all of the regulars plus a few visitors. We debated whether that was an auspice or a coincidence. Either way, there were a lot of doughnuts.

The old Russian guy who stands across the street watching us for hours decided he wanted to carry a picket sign for about 30 seconds. When we offered him a doughnut, he asked for vodka. Which made me rethink the past few weeks of watching him watching us: he may be completely blitzed at every moment.

Except for a brief visit on Tuesday to bring cookies and show off my daughter, I’ve been away from the picket line all week. There wasn’t a lot of news to catch up on. Angry Cadillac Woman is M.I.A. — she didn’t show up today either. Beyond that, same old stretch of asphalt.

Today’s principal topics of conversation: dog rescue, Clinton vs. Obama, good-looking Socialist reporter guy, brain tumors, limousine liberalism, pretending to be Canadian, and those guys who paint street numbers on the curb without asking and expect you to pay them.

Britney Spears accuses mom of sleeping with boyfriend

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Britney Spears supposedly told doctors at UCLA she's on Adderall and has been taking ten laxatives a day. Wow, on top of all that Starbucks? That's pretty gross. Anyway, she also laid down some heavy accusations against her mom Lynne, according to TMZ:
We're also told, when she was admitted, Britney accused her mom of "sleeping with my boyfriend." She wasn't specific on who she was referring to.
We're also told that for a time she was hurling profanities at her parents and staff.
Lynne Spears and Adnan McWienerPills? Of course. That makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever. Therefore it's gotta be true. I'm on board. Lynne, you whore!

Heath Ledger did drugs – Gasp!

Thursday, January 31st, 2008
0131_heath_ledger_drugs_00.JPG Michelle Williams kicked Heath Ledger out of their Brooklyn home because of his drug problems over the past year. Heath would disappear for days on end and show up a complete mess, according to a member of Heath’s entourage. Page Six reports:
"He was partying, doing drugs. She didn't like the company he was keeping. She gave him an ultimatum. . . . and threatened to get custody of the girl. He wanted to make it work, but it was this scene he was wrapped up in. Was he an addict? Yeah."
Entertainment Tonight was also going to air a tape of Heath doing cocaine at a hotel party in 2006, but opted not to out of respect for the Ledger family. Heath also had a problem with heroin that may shed light on his death, according to Page Six’s source:
"Once you go down that road, then it gets really scary. Because all of sudden you shoot up, you take heroin, then you do a line of cocaine and then you take sleeping pills. Look at River Phoenix, he died exactly the same way."
I tried to find the Heath Ledger drug video on YouTube but all I found was some jackass who filmed himself through what looks like a roll of toilet paper. I don’t want to say it’s the most retarded thing I’ve seen in a while because I cover Britney Spears everyday. So that bar is pretty high. That being said, now I can’t stop saying “Earthen dam.” God, I hate you, YouTube. But I can't quit you.

Fan Rant: The Heath Ledger Video

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Long story short: A two-year-old video featuring Heath Ledger at a party where drugs were being consumed was purchased by Entertainment Tonight for a large sum of money (some are saying $200,000), and the show, as well as The Insider, planned to air the video in an attempt to "understand why Ledger died." Ledger's former PR firm sent out a mass email protesting the video, folks everywhere cried "poor taste" and ET ultimately decided not to air it. One imagines said video will arrive on YouTube within 24 hours, and at that time it will be everywhere; the secret video everyone will pretend they didn't watch.

Here's my question: Where do you draw the line? Almost everything these shows put on the air is in poor taste. So, instead of the Ledger video, they'll do 15 minutes on Britney Spears -- what she wore to the hospital, what she said to the doctor, how big her sh*t was that morning. This stuff -- this stalking of Britney Spears -- is okay. Airing a video showing Heath Ledger drinking a beer, while some dude snorts coke in the corner? Not okay. That's in poor taste. You should respect the Ledger family. What about the family of every other actor or actress who's caught doing something stupid? Where's the respect for them? There is no respect. You think the folks at ET respect Ledger or his family? They couldn't give two sh*ts about these people ... unless something they do is going to bring them more viewers. Hence, the video.

It's a pretty sick world we live in. I've watched this TMZ show on television, where the staff gets together and they write a bunch of stuff on a board. At the top of that board, it should read: How Will We Ruin Someone's Life Today? Isn't it sick to know that all of these people -- the shows, the websites, the magazines -- make all their money off humiliating other people? That that's a huge business; the business of humiliation. And then they go home at night to their wife, their significant other, their children -- and they attempt to be a good role model. " Help Jimmy with his math homework after you're done photo-shopping that pic of Britney's vagina, please."
